 If that title rings a bell with you then it might be because you are a seasoned anorak. It was part of a statement on a Radio Caroline T'Shirt/Sweatshirt that from memory was partly in relation to the 1990 Broadcast Legislation/Act. Many fans of the licensed AM community radio service, were at that time, up in arms at this draconian legislation that gave the UK more powers over offshore radio stations than ships at sea carrying Class A drugs. Never mind Radio Caroline stood their ground vowing to get a third world license and return, a pipe dream if ever there was one. The rest is history, compliant and licensed history! Small RSL broadcasts, the internet with PRS and PPL licenses all in place and after a considerable begging campaign and getting into bed with some MP's a community radio license. Yep the Jolly Roger flag flew and was slowly lowered into submission by the civil servants that always know how to play the long game, far longer than any well intended Anorak. The trouble is that 1984 has arrived a little late. However it is now firmly established and far more draconian than those troubled anoraks could have ever imagined. So much so, that your beloved no longer free radio station, dare not voice opinions on so many topics, that you are better off just playing music. That is, as long as it is the right music. The following video is yet another example of how 1984 arrived a little late, unfortunately the thought police are real, and as Eric Blair (George Orwell) predicted, they are just obeying orders (now that's another expression that should sound a little familiar).

I've known James for years (he knows me as 'Red' because of my family name) and he gets his fun by injecting nonsense into any conversation in order to see how much other people will put up with. You can find his posts on several Forums and they all follow the same pattern. He usually writes them after he has had a few because at other times he is reasonably sober and sane. Sometimes he tries it on in real time when people he doesn't like have to get in touch with him, but those who know him and what he is doing either ignore him or tell him to shut up. If he has been hitting the bottle he will ignore you and get worse. Best thing is to ignore him until he sobers up.

After that legal advice/opinion was sought. However this does NOT match with your co- authoring 'Prelude 1960-1963' in The Pirate Radio Hall of Fame'. 2/7/62- Alan Crawford goes to Liechtenstein to negotiate. - Why would he when he already had the THV Satellite. (Was it always two ships? ). September - 'Meanwhile John Thompson and Arnold Swanson talk to Albrecht in Valdez, Liechtenstein, who represents the owner of the ship. RONAN O'RAHILLY is also there. (Question -why? - was he representing himself, or on behalf of someone else, if so who? ). Albrecht tries bring all the interested parties together but none of the groups represent enough money and negotiations are broken off. Nothing more is heard of until the early 1963 ROR/AC meeting, Jocelyn Stevens and others, and ROR in Houston in June 1963. Scottg: As you are aware this investigation has been going on since I first wrote and had published my first half-page newspaper article back on June 27,1966. Back then I began by assuming that everyone knew what they were writing was true, and that included the 'Caroline Kennedy' hoax that was actually not created until the Spring of 1965. When I went to Texas I was told about the visit to Houston by ROR in June of 1963, which no one else has ever mentioned. That is when I also learned about the meetings that took place in 1962, before ROR got involved in offshore radio when he first met Crawford in early 1963. It took me quite a time to discover who John Delaney was. I have to thank Ray Clark for uncovering the Kew document pertaining to the THV Satellite. There is a lot of material that I have uncovered that has never fit in with the timeline published over and over again by anoraks, and that is because very few of them do any original research. Paul Harris did none and his mistakes are legion. I was not just investigating Caroline, but first of all, after meeting and becoming friends with Don Pierson in Texas when he gave me all of his financial and legal records, I discovered that the true story conflicted with stories put on sale by people like Steve England. I now have a vast number of sources and a huge library of material. A lot of it comes from sources having absolutely nothing to do with offshore radio directly. This is legal and financial information. So my job with others, has been putting together a gigantic jigsaw puzzle that some never wanted to be put together in order to hide the real story. That means that we did not know what the final picture was. But that raised the question of what IS the real story? Well after years of searching and a tremendous amount of help from a lot of people that story is now emerging. But just like the 'Caroline Kennedy' hoax it raised questions about who started Radio Caroline and why? At different times I have been buying books on everything from Suez to the Krays to the Kennedy Assassination and Brexit and the history of the oil and gas industry. All of it forms some part of the puzzle. While we have made radio and TV documentary broadcasts and written by articles for the mainstream media and academia, none of it is the final word. It also means, as you noted, that sometimes new information corrects what we had used as a starting point and published by others. Gradually the true story is now emerging but it has yet to be published as 'Dial 999 for Caroline'. That is really all I can tell you right at this minute. Unfortunately when I trust some people and share some research they steal the material for themselves - even though they don't understand the material and even though it is only a part of the story. So unless I find it worthwhile to announce it ahead of time in order to 'date stamp' our discoveries in case someone tries to steal and self-publish, we are controlling our release of information. Some on our inner circles such as Mike are made aware of some of the material that we are working with. I have offered you such opportunities but you have not taken them up and keep asking me questions in public which I will not answer. But this is a gigantic job because the story that is out there now is so wrong, and it is so corruptly false that when it is finally published it will shock a lot of people who will wonder how they allowed themselves to be conned and fooled by a lot of fraudsters - the chief of which was always Ronan O'Rahilly who was helped by Ian Cowper Ross. But is the reason why I have such disdain for people like Chris Elliot, and for published books such as 'Pirate Gold' and the 'Caroline Bible'. Mervyn, you are sidestepping the question - WHY DO YOU CLAIM THAT RONAN O'RAHILLY WAS IN LIECHTENSTEIN IN SEPTEMBER 1962? PLEASE REVEAL - AND WAS IT FOR HIMSELF OR FOR OTHERS? You co- authored the PRHOF timeline 1960-63, and it has been in existence for many years. Please explain (without waffle,), why there is discrepancy on 'dial999 and timeline', of which you were involved in both, of which you could have corrected at anytime. I agree with the fact that Radio Caroline completely sold out under Malcolm Smiths tenure. The tribute station on air today is full of old DJs reliving their past once a month and pretending to still be an offshore station. According to it's license, it's dog collar, it's no longer free radio bondage, it's accountability to OFCOM. Radio Caroline is now a totally regulated and pitiful shadow of it's former self (or shelf for James). A few hundred misled listeners who think this is still free radio, it is not. There you go! That is exactly what happened on Garry's Forum. When I let these trolls know that they might be quoted and identified they shrieked and hollered "You can't do that!" I told them and could and that the best of the worst had a good chance of making it into the book. They really freaked then. That is when pressure was brought on Garry who was sending me emails to keep it up, He was the one who coined the terms 'Church of Caroline" and the "Joke Board". But someone got to him and within a one hour time period he suddenly began deleting posts and welcoming back the trolls that he had banned during the time he made me his Admin. Then the rogue Admins came back as well and I have not been there (posting) since then. So now 'Testing' is running for cover. Ha, ha, ha, ha. This is all so funny and a repeat like same story Chapter Two. Goodbye dear troll, you may see yourself in print in that "novel" you kept going on about, the one I am not writing and you kept claiming would never be written. The messages here are not 'some form of email'. You may like to read up on what email actually is. If that is too much for you, then do some colouring in to calm your nerves. If you go over the lines, get an adult to help you. No one directs posters here except you from your own joke board, remember that? Thank you for confirming that the posts above are indeed yours, and providing evidence that you do not understand the basics of how this board operates. All you can do is pump out the same old clichés about rusting hulks and pipsqueak stations and good old Buffy. If you're going to resort to childish threats, then you need to try harder.
