So let me get this straight. The Nativity time of Easter Advent calendar is now a pop up book of something that vaguely resembles a ship from then and a pop up of a House in Mayfair from then?

Are there figurines to go with this?

Is the OEM interview with the caretaker still available Mr Edwards?

I'm holding out for a cardboard cut out of Paulton Square and Wickford Cottage office from now

Recently there as been a RC raffle of a wonderful painting of the RR as a trawler. The winner generously donates this to the contemporary RR- well done

Another raffle - a surprisingly realistic painting or mosaic or something artistic of the MA, outcome as yet unknown?- although I can't be bothered looking to check right now, cos I like taking on here so much

My point is would not a better fund raising point have been to lottery the originals and then licence prints of the pictures - artist and RRSG benefits?

.I have seen 2 models of radio ships which have looked anything like them

Both of course bespoke. 1 was of the Communicator and one of the Ross with the 1990 twin towers. All the others have been brave efforts from Airfix and Revel kits and a lot of patience and matchsticks. Don't get me wrong I commend the effort but you know I would happily give my contempory life savings for a contempory Ross Revenge model to skate around my kitchen table next to the General Lee and the V8* Interceptor and the De Lorain with the lightening rod!

I am perhaps unfairly biased but if my hero Rome did not like Keith and his shoes then I don't like the cut of his gib either

The cardboard ship cutout shows the Ross in the background and then there are all those cameos of Tony Blackburn, Keith Skues, etc, who were never on that ship in the era shown. Can I get a refund please as reparation for damage to my memory?

That's a page fold not the Ross mast. Wot u see is Radio London with a mast that has diarrhea and the Mi Amigo with a lattice mast that never was on the ship in the 60s.

STx, I acknowledge that you stated that the modulation was confirmed with a 'scope'. Could you tell me the technical people in attendance, and who made the adjustment? Was Alan Beech there? I also acknowledge the General Heavy setting and it is now slightly louder. How long did it take? Scottg.

Being excluded from asking radio related questions on the board that you would think welcomes those I have a question or a point or three to ask

Having recently resubscibed to OEM (Happy Birthday) I have enjoyed reading Peter C's transcribed memories

But nevertheless a question has come to me which I have never seen put before

On Friday 18 August the Landward approaches the Ross and tells them switch off or there will be big trouble at 12 noon tomorrow, right?

Dutch UK land are having their doors kicked in and UK land is sort of warned that the ship is in a siege situation, right?

Did no one think to tell the ship - make an excuse announcement - something like the end of the Spectrum 558 Caroline 6pm farce later in 1990 when the announcement was to secure the future of the station, we seek no confrontation etc we are closing down to seek clarification on the future?

If this had happened, even just to buy time, would this have saved the ship and equipment from being trashed for 30 seconds on the Saturday news?

If Peter C was so all knowing and went out in his rubber boat why did he not immediately make an announcement like that even if it did overrule Mr SW3

Did Mr SW3 think it was "just" going to be another Euro siege and that no one would challenge his "suspicious registration"

The worst case senereo is that if even off the air say before the Volans left Scheveningen at dawn they still boarded and wrecked, but at least there had been the compliance with what seemed like an offer to legally parlay made

It does seem to me to be a case of sod them we are going to out in a blaze of glory

As for Dave Fosters History compendium. I just caught the last half hour of part 2 and thought Dave has done a very good job of not getting bogged down with this mast did this and this raid did that - so well done to him for a difficult compendium task. However why had all the old AM recordings have to be heard through a sea of static. I know very well they exist clearer, they are all in the compilations. Is it to make it sound as in the dim and distant past like the rancid static Bell at the top of the hour which took years to shift. Also Peter M quotes still have the Chicago Blame in high fidelity. How part 3 can make an hour out of the last 25 years have been alright on and up but we would like money to keep the ship remains to be heard tomorrow evening. Crackle free
