Ironically Swedish and wonderful (the first video that is). Different Decade same old money, money, money and we all move on. It's all your fault of course, damn those energy hungry global internet servers, but never those energy dependent 1st class trip too and from La La land! Seriously, you need a (just turned) seventeen year old, to solve your lesser person's future. We are not worthy and white people are wholly responsible, check your privy ledge white person, of no colour, it's all your fault (Swedish teenagers with Asperger's excluded). HOW DARE YOU! In summary - hypocrisy in action, climate change style.

The Isle Of Man is home of course to the first national commercial radio station within the British Isles. How can I say that? Well the Isle Of Man is a self-governing British Crown dependency in the Irish Sea between Great Britain and Ireland. The head of state, Queen Elizabeth II, holds the title of Lord of Mann and is represented by a lieutenant governor. In 1866, the Isle of Man obtained limited home rule, with partly democratic elections to the House of Keys, but an appointed Legislative Council. Since then, democratic government has been gradually extended. Indeed right down until today there are plenty of Islanders who would like to cut all ties to the United Kingdom. Manx Radio began broadcasting on 29 June 1964, almost ten years before commercial radio was licensed in the United Kingdom. The Isle of Man, having its own government and laws, was not subject to the rules prohibiting commercial broadcasting in the UK. However, the Manx Government still had to apply to the UK's General Post Office for a frequency and for permission to broadcast. First requested in 1960, a licence was eventually granted in May 1964. Was it a coincidence that the GPO issued a licence to Manx Radio shortly after Offshore radio began in the Thames estuary and was it another coincidence that Radio Caroline North anchored in Ramsey Bay that same year? Or did the GPO have a little more knowledge than we have been led to believe? Well here are some videos with a few connections. The first two are Manx Radio in the sixties and early seventies with some offshore presenter links. A short video of the North ship, is followed by a French video about Radio Caroline & Radio City in 1966 (any French translators about?), and finally a Pathe News video regarding Liverpool in 1964, no mention of Caroline or Manx radio however one had an office their at the time, and after Radio Caroline was towed away in March 1968, Manx Radio's AM service had a pretty good signal into parts of Scotland and down to Merseyside. How ironic is that? Well she has just turned seventeen and had to attend a specialist school due to a number of mental health issues. Having spent plenty of time with people with varying degrees of mental health problems, it's my experience that many people still don't understand just how fragile those afflicted with Aspergers or Autism in it's many forms can be. I am yet to meet a medical professional who has witnessed miracle cures for any mental health issue, treatment yes, improved well being yes, but getting better by eating a meal, come on now, do us all a favour. My own opinion is that Greta is being used as a front for the climate change industry (and a potentially huge money spinner for so many). Anyway we have a new video that appeared earlier today, it's short(ish), and recently completed in Sweden. So what have those around Greta got to hide? Climate change is real isn't it? Perhaps Greta has nothing to hide, however she has clearly been well coached to handle the media, especially if a rogue 'wrong question' is asked. Seventeen, a metal health sufferer, surrounded by unpleasant security guards (putting that mildly) and the smell of the left wing terrorist and George Soros funded ANTIFA, lurking in the air. The mainstream media are complicit in all of this, the BBC particularly in the UK, so I have added another little video featuring James Delingpole to cheer me up (may his BBC dream come true). Day in and day out BBC News champions the climate change debate (do you understand why the term global warming was dropped?). Today that nasty Mr Trump challenged the doom mongers head on, and the BBC news focus switched to live links on the hour over the impeachment scam (for that is what it is, the Demonrat Party are simply projecting their own crimes onto the orange man). They have played videos of Greta versus Mr President as if they are in the same room at the same time. It's as if their (BBC) campaign to deliver Cultural Marxism (more about that another time) is under threat! Someone asked for a list of climate change peer reviewed papers in the comments of another post a little while back. That is of scientists who disagree with climate change. Well we can go better than that, especially if you are prepared to learn rather than take the doom merchants side and die in a ditch defending the globalists who want to strip you of every freedom to save themselves. So we have a new movie from December 2019, and some other videos that include an awful lot of scientists, climate experts and impartial commentators. OK they are lacking the rent a mob activists, the money grabbing carbon off-setting corporations, but atleast Al Gore makes it into the movie, to be exposed as the hypocrite he really is (now that is an inconvenient truth). Remain brainwashed or wake up, it's your choice. What a wonderfully anorak world we live in. The old joke is, that some people think denial is a river in Africa (if you need that explained the answer is on page seven). Trolls will be trolls, lovers of themselves will be just that. The reality might just be that even non religious people are starting to think we are facing Armaggedon in the face. Since the joyful days of the hippy swinging sixties through to the snowflake times of now, something is clearly, just not right. Shaun Attwood is an activist and reporter who served time (six years) in one of the hardest prisons in the USA. He is also one very intelligent and fearless individual. Sonia Poulton is a well connected journalist and you can add to that a determined investigator and courageous woman. They will not be on any mainstream media outlet anytime soon, not unless the revolution turns out after all to be televised. Whilst You Tube allows their material to remain on line, feel free to dig a little deeper, both are clever at remaining under the radar, both are telling details that less than a century ago would have cost them everything. Check your history, that is not an exaggeration. As a small taste of reality here is a new video, it's only part of their discussion however it homes in on the real Royal story of the moment and not the perfectly timed smokescreen of Harry & Money. If that title rings a bell with you then it might be because you are a seasoned anorak. It was part of a statement on a Radio Caroline T'Shirt/Sweatshirt that from memory was partly in relation to the 1990 Broadcast Legislation/Act. Many fans of the licensed AM community radio service, were at that time, up in arms at this draconian legislation that gave the UK more powers over offshore radio stations than ships at sea carrying Class A drugs. Never mind Radio Caroline stood their ground vowing to get a third world license and return, a pipe dream if ever there was one. The rest is history, compliant and licensed history! Small RSL broadcasts, the internet with PRS and PPL licenses all in place and after a considerable begging campaign and getting into bed with some MP's a community radio license. Yep the Jolly Roger flag flew and was slowly lowered into submission by the civil servants that always know how to play the long game, far longer than any well intended Anorak. The trouble is that 1984 has arrived a little late. However it is now firmly established and far more draconian than those troubled anoraks could have ever imagined. So much so, that your beloved no longer free radio station, dare not voice opinions on so many topics, that you are better off just playing music. That is, as long as it is the right music. The following video is yet another example of how 1984 arrived a little late, unfortunately the thought police are real, and as Eric Blair (George Orwell) predicted, they are just obeying orders (now that's another expression that should sound a little familiar). The Headline on BBC News Website as I type is "Queen and Prince Harry To Hold Face To Face Talks". You what?? What the??? Why not Grandson and Grandmother to get together for a chat over a family issue, that is personal and their business only? That or how about a leading headline "Many leading Scientists Do Not Think Climate Change Is Linked To CO2 Emissions". Nah lets keep the sheep eating only our grass as all other grasses (the dominant vegitation on planet earth) might not agree or perish the thought have their own ideas. So a simple question that you will love to ignore. Lionel Nation made a video today from his home in New York City. The question: How many decades back (or forwards) would we have to go, if this same message was made and circulated in Britain, before the instigator of these thoughts would be 1): Convicted As A Criminal ---- 2): Executed (the tradition being beheaded) ---- 3): Considered A Terrorist ---- Or finally 4): Published In A National Newspaper? Let's start this little journey with a reasonably detailed quote - "In 1970, O’Rahilly announced the July launch of Caroline TV, supposedly to be broadcast from Lockheed Super Constellation aircraft. Caroline TV: hoax or dream? (source: David Hughes) Flying over the North Sea. The plans, based on airborne transmissions to US troops then taking place in Vietnam, were later exposed as a publicity stunt – or at least a speculative attempt to attract backers for what would have been the riskiest broadcasting project of all. For a few months, there was regular newspaper and magazine coverage of the project by journalists who were determined not to under-estimate O’Rahilly again. But the stories soon began to pose more questions than answers. The project probably had secured conditional funding from O’Rahilly’s wealthy friend, Scottish banking heir George Drummond, who had also backed most of his movie productions. The former Radio Caroline sales director Terry Bate (later a leading TV entrepreneur in London) and a New York advertising sales company Edward Petrie did engage in serious canvassing of US advertisers. And a BBC news team was despatched to cover the scheduled July 1 launch. But the launch date came and went. O’Rahilly told some friends he had purchased two aircraft which were in Spain, waiting to take-off and start broadcasting. But in the weeks after the predicted launch date, he said, implausibly, that the planes had been “blown up” by British government agents. Even insiders came to believe the whole project was a fantasy which could have only become reality if high-spending advertisers had emerged to pay what would have been the astronomical operating costs of broadcasting from aircraft. The fact that Radio Caroline itself had been struggling to persuade international advertisers to circumvent the UK legislation (which applied also to aircraft) always made the whole project seem hopelessly unrealistic. In the event, Caroline TV remained as nothing more than a poster on the wall of O’Rahilly’s London office wall in Hay’s Mews, near the former Radio Caroline headquarters. The reports of test broadcasts, advertising contracts, and trial flights from European airports quickly evaporated. The whole saga somehow seemed to fit with musician Alexis Korner’s mid-1960s view that the fast-talking Irishman “wanted more than anything else to be seen to be successful”. Now, O’Rahilly was struggling to stay in the news." Conveniently dismissed as a publicity stunt on Radio Caroline's Wikipedia page and seldomly mentioned by anyone involved in the offshore radio saga, Caroline TV involved a few seriously minded business people who were hardly likely to take part in a publicity stunt, and even less so in a hoax. As the following German video goes on to demonstrate (and Ronan can be clearly heard under the commentary) it would appear that Caroline TV was initially a serious affair. Perhaps the simple explanation is that it failed when reality hit Mr O'Rahilly's blagging and bluster head on and the establishment said no. He also upset a good few press reporters with the promises of certain dates for the venture to begin. Now that's what I call a publicity stunt, that and taking on the current government the same year, know wonder Radio Veronica and RNI wanted him to ###### off when the Mi Amigo turned up off Holland a couple of years later. Meet your everyday Baby Boomer. Born the right side of the second world war, these young people are responsible for everything from global warming (oops) sorry lets make that climate change, through to being far too white and the cause of slavery way before their grand parents were born. Living For Kicks was a TV documentary made in 1960. The teenagers appearing here were clearly not the brightest bunch, something I would hastily add was on evidence presented, not their own fault, however the personal aspirations voiced were at least grounded in reality. Considering that Now & Then is about Radio from that era on-wards I picked up on a point worth mentioning. So OK the class distinctions are clear enough. An older well educated journalist does the interviewing with a sense of self importance undermined further by his need to be better and all knowing. Condecending in action if you get my drift. However the interviewees have something up their sleeve, they have jobs and they have buying power, note the statistics towards the beginning of the video, these young rebels have cash and they spend it. They have limited outlets to enjoy themselves, and a youth culture held in dim regard by the establishment, these people would surely love to hear their music on the radio, all day, everyday if only some clever people would fill that void! Think about it, spending power, limited entertainment, a love of the new musical culture, dancing, having fun in the shires and beyond, all ready for a clever, gifted entrepreneur to deliver the goods. The chance just a couple of years later for Radio Atlanta and Radio Caroline to become their champions? Well you know the rest, so why was this obvious target audience passed over for a safe housewives choice audience? With hindsight are the teenagers of that era another elephant in the room when it comes to the real (part establishment) goals of free radio's first UK pioneers? Or should I have been born a few decades earlier and filled my boots? Hang on a minute, that means I would be brown bread or there about. What a conundrum! |
