Clearly that is a lot of people, a lot of individuals and they are angry because they have a complaint that is not being addressed.

When police in some US States are called out to a domestic disturbance, instead of trying to take sides in the ongoing fight, they arrest both and let the courts hear all the evidence.

But with this domestic disturbance writ large, one side is telling the other side via law enforcement that their grievances will not be heard or considered, and this is an invitation to an even worse situation.

What is needed is a third party mediator to hear both sides and then make a decision about how to resolve the standoff.

That is not happening and that can only mean that worse is yet to come, whatever that may mean.

Has everyone lost their sense of problem-solving?

I have read again the posting you refer a couple of times Tronald and it still makes no sense. That remains the case regardless of whether, which I doubt, the author supports Radio Caroline.

Obviously my records will not pick up Mr James T Optibore nor Mr Dump, but I think it unlikely that anyone on the raving mad board or indeed here, contributes to Caroline. There is no compulsion that they should.

Don't quite get your point but I think the loony board should be left to the loonies.

Please teacher I was not able to write an intelligent comment because my mother and my father keep arguing about nothing and that's how I leaned to behave and if I get pushed too hard I hit back with words and if that doesn't work I flatten the person asking questions with my fists. If it works for my Dad I figure it will work for me. My Dad is bouncer by profession and when I grow up I hope to be able to bounce him. Hello Ian,

For thirty years now the Ross has been self financing via donations, a bit of merchandising, getting paid to be a film location and more recently boat trips ( though not just now ). But the budget thus created is completely inadequate to give the ship the attention it now requires.

A long time ago a colleague looked at Lottery/Grant funding and was told that the Ross with her various career histories would be a valid project. But nobody knew who owned her and on that basis no money was offered. Ownership had been deliberately made mysterious and for some time we wondered if we may open too big a can of worms by delving in to the matter.

Eventually we did so and the legal work took three years, culminating in a barrister, my lawyer and myself going before the Admiralty Court at the Royal Courts Of Justice. Now we have an owner and any previous claims are null and void. Next we need a properly constituted charity. This also is a matter of some complexity.

Being by nature cautious ( maybe too much so ? ) I broke the planned work in to three phases.

1. to preserve the hull and renew all valves that admit water in to the ship for various purposes. Fit sufficient new anodes.
2. turn the unused bow area in to a museum, exhibition, educational area.
3. put all her machinery in to good order and put her in class to be able to navigate under her own power.

I am told that I am mad to even consider item 3. but there you go. The thing that made her such a good radio ship was her draught, but that is now problematical as to where she can go for repair. We may be able to trim her level i.e. drop the bow, raise the stern. Various good hearted people have pledged funds and we have saved some up ourselves.

Once we have the charity and a charity number and some trustees we can make a start. I know where I want to take her, but won't say any more about that right now.
