John Peel 1979

5/3/2025

1979 was not a good year for the MiAmigo and sadly for many anoraks Caroline simply limped along with break after break. That said land based pirates in London were on the rise. However I knew quite a few diehard anoraks who would quietly confess that they would tune over to John Peel on Radio 1 weekday evenings. It was almost like some kind of Catholic confession. The reality was his program was often a voyage of musical discovery for open minded music lovers and his ego was a lot smaller than those awful daytime DJ's.

HENSCHEL GENERATOR
6/3/2025 10:07:46 pm

Yes John Peel was ahead of anything Radio Caroline did in 1979 but the BBC did not have a HENSCHEL GENERATOR! That is why Anoraks flocked in their billions to Frinton beach. It was never about the music, it was about the generators. Thats why Ronan had one big enough to power every street light in Birmingham put on the Ross Revenge.

Wake up Malcolm, Peter & the Moore Smith Boogie Band, it was all about the generators.

I have had a very intelligent conversation with my legal advisor and his Barrister who has informed me that I am more (not Moore) likely to be left out of pocket, even if I should win the case, and therefore I will not be serving papers on the Henschel Generator at this point.

Freddie Archer was the main man behind everything to do with saving Private Ronan, after the MiAmigo became a shallow water submarine that specialized in sandbank warfare. Ronan went on to say that Freddie single offhandedly set up a short wave (about 100 yards) alternative to John Peel that ensured his audience was reduced to just people who loved music. Freddie also introduced Norfolk to Suffolk whilst dating Essex, the guy is a legend (or bellend, not sure which)

Brains, Grey Matter and Questions
6/3/2025 07:57:52 am

In 2025 the BBC and ITV (and junior audio services), still exist, and Ronan is long gone, and so is 'One Man's Fight' named Johnnie Walker. (No, the drink still exists, the person who played records for a living paid for wiith UK tax money at the BBC, that's who is being referred to.)

But there now exists a huddle of mainly old men who live to work on a radio station (an idea soon to die) based on board a ship anchored next to the sands so that they can drink their tea and coffee.

These dreamers think that they have dedicated their lives to a worthwhile cause, but wars rage on killing young men (and women and children), all over the world. People starve, people freeze, people are robbed and raped (including children), but the old men who long for a turntable on a ship, carry on as though the world has become a glorious place thanks to an Irishman named Ronan.

Soon these old men will be dead. All of them.

What then of the ship they wanted to preserve?

Beard stubble will continue to appear each morning and some young men will still to prefer to use razor blades to get rid of it. That ship's metal may be able to supply a few more blades and then it too will be gone.

One hundred years from now people may still be drinking Johnnie Walker, but the former Brum car salesman who appropriated the drink name, what of him?

What indeed?

Yes. Just about any voice can be used to learn AI to copy a voice pattern. You can even get long dead singers to sing songs they never recorded. Pretty amazing but scary stuff

Hello,

I did find Mervyn's latest ramblings and there seemed to be an opportunity to send him a message so I did. But so far as I can see my message never appeared. I guess he deleted it.
On the Garry Forum someone is asking the question of which diesel generator powered which transmitter on the Mi Amigo and various people are commenting. If they want to discuss this I suppose they can, but as both the generator and transmitter and the ship sank 45 years ago I have to ask ' what's the point ?'.
Another long thread seems to cover Radio Atlantis. People approach this subject with trepidation as it sometimes produces a three page letter full of legalese from Messrs Sue Grabbit & Runne.
So I only observe that Kevin Turner departed supposedly to tend his garden and that Steve England has gone to Australia ( some time ago now ) One Nick Carter allegedly claimed his back wages by official means and the other three live presenters are now 'on shore leave '
From the once prestigious list of advertisers the latest clients seem to be Boost Pet Food and Higgidy Pies.

I make no furthr comment.it is all there for you to see for yourself.

As PM, myself & quite a few others helped Caroline when she was on the high sea - we are probably ALL crooks by Haggis Hagger's odd logic.

To be clear Freddy Archer operated an embarrassing land based pirate on short wave under the name Radio Caroline. It was laughable.

These anoraks are just sad old men living in the past and some of them dream up things they did or exaggerate tiny acts as life saving interventions. Why does macolm call himself Peter Moore? Outside of anorak circles he is unknown so why all the pretense? They will always attack Merv as deep down they know he might burst their bubble of nonsense.

looking at some of the comments on the two forums I get the impression that alot of these anoraks believe everything they hear on the news & tabloid press, in other words they are spoon fed dummies unable to think or reason. No wonder they live in the past, still they are majority old men so perhaps I should feel sorry for them

The original Radio Caroline was a businss venture, first by PYE (until 1965) and then the Mafia (until 1967).

In the 1980s Laser came along with business backing based upon a falacy and it went bust.

The other attempts to fund offshore radio by people like Bob, were also knowingly based upon criminal activity. Not business.

What Malcolm is doing now is trying to foster a charity based upon a LIE about the past, and that is illegal.

With today's technology the idea of offshore radio is just silly.

But since the perverted history of the past is warping the direction of the future, it must be countered by the truth, and that is what we have been doing for our part, today.

I suggest avoiding the two forums dominated by the radio ship cultists because at least one of them has a virus. I just got rid of it by subscribing to a service I had previously used, and it immediately flagged the board by the guy who can't spell and won't learn, as a source of viral infection.

I just discovered how to get rid of the bug that switches everything to Yahoo. it's not a virus as such and neither is it really harmful. It is planted malware that requires users to get rid of an attachment to Google, but which you can't get rid of it in the usual manner.

I also came across this from Malcolm:

"I mentioned before that when his rantings became extreme in the past I visited a defamation lawyer who told me,for a fee of £200, not to bother taking action."

Malcolm really is bonkers if he forked out cash to be told that. Anyone who knows the basics of law could have told Malcolm that if he continues to lie and swindle OAP's out of their cash with his Ronan fib, that he hasn't got a legal leg to stand on.

Quite the reverse. Malcolm could be providing grounds for his tin pot radio licence to be taken away from HIS company, and for his rust bucket hulk to lose its charity status.

Just stop lying, cheating and swindling Malcolm, and you can keep your insignificant radio station and your rusting pile of metal.

Well,

I am supremely not concerned by what sad Merv says or does other than and as you say, for amusememt. He will never publish his endlessly mentioned book nor announce any revelation that in his mind will ' blow the thing wide open ' when in fact the only response will be a disinterested yawn. Nobody cares any more if indeed they ever did. A bit like ' Hey, Merv says that bears shit in the woods, Wow I never knew that '.
I see that he again says that I am a crook. I mentioned before that when his rantings became extreme in the past I visited a defamation lawyer who told me,for a fee of £200, not to bother taking action. The logical reasons were that action would cost me more money even if I was vindicated. Next that if awarded damages Merv probably did not have a pot to piss in. Next that a normal person might be silenced by a cease a desist letter but someone as deranged as Merv may go to even further extremes. But finally since everyone knew that Merv was as mad as a box of frogs, his comments were not damaging to my reputation anyhow.

Malcolm Smith claims to be Peter Moore, and I am sure that there are many people wandering around in real life called Peter Moore. There may also be a lot of people named Malcolm Smith. But for the sake of brevity the Malcolm Smith aka Peter Moore being referred to on this Board is the same person who is running a tiny AM radio station called Caroline. But his Radio Caroline is not the same Radio Caroline that began in 1964, even though Smith/Moore claims untruthfully that it is via a convoluted story involving an Irishman named O'Rahilly.

Now the Joseph Mifsud you linked to seems to have come to Facebook on November 6, 2020 and via postings on YouTube about music and sports. There are a lot of Mifsuds around, and in the 1950s a Joseph Mifsud was a gangster from Malta who predated the rise of the Kray Twins. But that Joseph Mifsud is not the same Joseph Mifsud that I wrote about back in 2018 and which you can find at http://mifsud-trump.com/

Notice that on your Joseph Mifsud Facebook page that began in 2020 - which is 2 years after the website domain of mifsud-trump.com was registered on 2018-09-18.

What I want to know, and the media asked a few years ago, is "where is Joseph Mifsud" off the Clinton-Russiagate Hoax?

The BBC - the voice of truth is now falling over itself on crutches to make as much fake mess on the pavement as possible. While the issues are of course desperately concerning, this state sponsored by licence mouthpiece does nothing to help anyone except create fear and anger and self loathing by posting clip bait news stories with helpful Getty images of downturned mouths staring at a laptop over their bills with their head in their hands or a "real photo" of a real Downton Abbey Mouth

Emily (not me), 41, lives in Croydon (not anywhere near me in Staffordshire), is autistic and struggles with time management and organising basic tasks for her daily routine. (Like totally unlike me)

"My autism has prevented me from getting jobs in the past," she says.

"Sometimes in interviews I wasn't able to answer any of the questions.

"I was umming and ahhing a lot, repeating myself. When you do that, people think 'this person is strange. We don't want this person'."

She is now working full time as a flight attendant (Fcuk. Donald Duck DEI has a point!!) and has developed strategies to help with being late, including getting up much earlier to allow extra time before shifts.

She is aware of the criticism benefit claimants often receive. "I'm not a scrounger," she says.

US President Donald Trump has signed an order to strip back the federally-funded news organisation Voice of America, accusing it of being "anti-Trump" and "radical".

A White House statement said the order would "ensure taxpayers are no longer on the hook for radical propaganda", and included quotes from politicians and right-wing media railing against the "leftist", "partisan" VOA.

VOA, still primarily a radio service, was set up during World War Two to counter Nazi propaganda. It is used by hundreds of millions of people around the world.

Mike Abramowitz, VOA's director, said he and virtually his entire staff of 1,300 people had been put on paid leave.

Abramowitz said that the order left VOA unable to carry out its "vital mission... especially critical today, when America's adversaries, like Iran, China, and Russia, are sinking billions of dollars into creating false narratives to discredit the United States".

The president's order targets VOA's parent company US Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which also funds non-profit entities such as Radio Free Europe and Radio Free Asia, which were originally set up to counter communism.

It tells managers to "reduce performance… to the minimum presence and function required by law".

CBS, the BBC's US news partner, said that VOA employees were notified in an email by Crystal Thomas, the USAGM human resources director.

A source told CBS that all freelance workers and international contractors were told there was now no money to pay them.

Emails obtained by CBS notified the bosses of Radio Free Asia and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty that their federal grants had been terminated.

The National Press Club, a leading representative group for US journalists, said the order "undermines America's long-standing commitment to a free and independent press".

It added: "If an entire newsroom can be sidelined overnight, what does that say about the state of press freedom?

"An entire institution is being dismantled piece by piece. This isn't just a staffing decision - it's a fundamental shift that endangers the future of independent journalism at VOA."

VOA and other stations under USAGM serve more than 400,000,000 listeners and are broadly equivalent to the BBC World Service, which is part-funded by the British government.

Elon Musk, the billionaire and top adviser to Trump who has been overseeing sweeping cuts to the US government, has used his social media platform X to call for VOA to be shut down.

The US president also cut funding to several other federal agencies - including those responsible for preventing homelessness, and funding museums and libraries.

Trump was highly critical of VOA in his first term. He has recently appointed staunch loyalist Kari Lake to be a special adviser for the USAGM.

The president regularly states that mainstream media outlets are biased against him. He called CNN and MSNBC "corrupt" and "illegal", without providing evidence, during a speech at the justice department.

Voice of America launched in 1942 with a mandate to combat Nazi and Japanese propaganda. Its first broadcast - made on a transmitter loaned to the US by the BBC - stated a modest purpose.

Gerald Ford, a former president, signed VOA's public charter in 1976 to safeguard its editorial independence.

By 1994, the Broadcast Board of Governors, with oversight over non-military broadcasting, was established.

In 2013, a shift in legislation allowed VOA and affiliates to begin broadcasting in the US.

“The Lottery, with its weekly pay-out of enormous prizes, was the one public event to which the proles paid serious attention. It was probable that there were some millions of proles for whom the Lottery was the principal if not the only reason for remaining alive. It was their delight, their folly, their anodyne, their intellectual stimulant. Where the Lottery was concerned, even people who could barely read and write seemed capable of intricate calculations and staggering feats of memory. There was a whole tribe of men who made their living simply by selling systems, forecasts, and lucky amulets. Winston had nothing to do with the Lottery, which was managed by the Ministry of Plenty, but he was aware (indeed everyone in the party was aware) that the prizes were largely imaginary. Only small sums were actually paid out, the winners of the big prizes being nonexistent persons.”

The Voice of America, Radio Free Europe, etc., are now being killed off. Is it too much to hope that the same will happen to BBC/ITV and the rest?
