Project Fear & Big Pharma

Some folk leave comments here when they have clearly done little research into the reality around them. Many people are conditioned from birth in how to think, listen and accept information. For example BBC News readers always speak with authority, with an air of importance, the constant drip, drip, drip of we know whats right and what matters most. That Sky News and ITV report pretty much the same information day in and day out serves to reinforce the narrative, these are the facts that count, we are the news so just sit back and listen.

Culturally many are also conditioned by the optics of democracy, you have the Left Wing, the Centre and the Right wing and you must sit somewhere within those parameters, identifying with those near you and those who speak on your behalf. Those who disagree with you can be placed on the line where you feel they belong and then attacked by using the stereotypical traits you identify are theirs. It's a useful mechanism for those who really pull the strings, it keeps you preoccupied by the talking points chosen for you by the Mockingbirds. It's even worse in the USA where the mainstream media use the same talking points and even the same sentences whether it be CNN, CBS, ABC, or the local news outlets.  Here is a current example.

So personal research is useful if you are trying to see outside of the bubble imposed by your preconceived opinions and personal comfort zone. For example if you identify as a socialist, you may feel comfortable only reading from websites that are like minded, but does that give you the full picture and what is the validity of others who sit outside of your little world.
