Free Radio Fans love what? Let's start with something simple like say... freedom. You know, free radio, freedom of speech etc etc!

We are now in possession of the original Radio Caroline Bible along with the revised version. Beginning this month Now & Then will start to examine the accuracy of the books account of the beginning of Radio Caroline. This will be undertaken on our new 'The Review' page. 

You may still wonder why Mervyn Hagger, Eric Gilder, Genie Baskir & Caroline Brooks (the last being the pen name of a real person) are extremely upset by Paul Rusling's publication. Mervyn has indeed voiced that anger felt and in no uncertain terms. Having sat down for the first time yesterday to start reading the book I started to quickly understand why. 

You see I had read a lot of this material before. Back in early 2019 I started to receive research material from the above mentioned 'trio'. Some of it had been developed years before, more had been unraveled after Mervyn Hagger had come across the book 'Radio Man' the story of C.O Stanley. 

This research by 'the trio' is extensive and the supporting documentation equally so. The level of detail helps in verifying individuals, dates, locations and more. It is also remarkable that many of those involved in the beginning of Radio Caroline have been interviewed by Mervyn Hagger (I have seen plenty of the emails & transcripts). 

That Paul Rusling has claimed much of this as his own work is astonishing. Ironically whilst a few lonely anoraks praise Paul for his masterpiece, the reality is that they are reading someone else's paid for research without even realizing it!  

I even feel some of that anger myself, to me this is at best an injustice. That anoraks have derided Mervyn Hagger and the trio egged on by Mr Rusling himself at times just goes to show how duped or stupid these individuals are. However I hope to keep those emotions in check and provide a balanced & reasoned review (accompanied by a small group of people who are assisting me). We hope to begin in a couple of days.
